Flax Tortillas

Ingredients:

1 3/4 cup One Organic Farm Organic All Purpose Flour

1/4 cup ground One Organic Farm Organic Whole flaxseed

1/4 cup organic butter

3/4 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp sea salt

3/4 cup warm water

Organic Butter, olive oil or avocado oil for cooking.

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, ground flax, baking powder and salt.

With pastry cutter, cut in butter into the flour mixture until it looks like fine meal

Add warm water, little bit at a time

Knead dough until smooth and elastic

Cover and let rest 30 minutes

Divide dough into 12 balls, cover

Roll out into 7” tortillas

Preheat skillet , medium to high heat. Brush each side of the tortilla with butter/olive oil/ avocado oil and cook until slightly browned on both sides.

*It’s best to brush the tortilla with the oil/butter rather than coating the skillet, this will prevent frying.

The tortilla wraps are best served warm. To reheat, place on a hot skillet or pop in the microwave for 30 seconds. These could also be easily frozen for future use.

Tortilla wraps are very versatile, from breakfast burritos to fajitas and enchiladas and with the added flax you get some much needed fibre!
